Lisa has worked as a designer and art director for Fortune 500 companies and holds a bachelor’s degree in graphic design from Southern Illinois University. She has been a business owner in Batavia, Illinois since 1988. Lisa is passionate about good design and helping businesses find solutions to visually communicate an idea, in print media or online. Years of experience has qualified Lisa to serve as an adjunct faculty member at Waubonsee Community College , College of DuPage and Elgin Community College , educating her students on the principles of design, effective visual communication and designing in the “real world.” She also gives private lessons in graphic design and the Adobe Creative Suite.
Lisa enjoys helping those who help others, and has worked with numerous healthcare organizations and non-profits. She has lived in Batavia since 1986 with her husband, Greg, and son, Ben. In addition to graphic design, she creates artwork using color pencil and has exhibited and placed in juried gallery shows. She is a resident artist and resident member on the Water Street Studios Board of Directors. Other activities include photography, bicycling, enjoying live music and travel.
Award Winning Design
Her design work for MidwestHeart received a 2008 Pinnacle Print Award from the Printing Industry of Illinois and Indiana, recognizing outstanding craftsmanship in the creation, design and production of printed materials. Other recognitions include 2011, 2014 and 2015 Gold Aster Awards, for Excellence in healthcare marketing. These awards were for the print materials designed for Midwest Heart Specialists and VNA Health Care. Judging criteria for the Aster Awards includes creativity, layout and design, functionality, message effectiveness, production quality and overall appeal. She also received a 2011 Gold CardioVascular Advertising Award for outstanding excellence in advertising for the specific service lines of cardio and/or vascular services.
In 2014, two American Graphic Design Awards were given for the Resolution Creative logo and self promotion print brochure.
