What to Expect during the Design Process

LisaDeskHave you ever worked with an outside resource to develop visual communications for your product or service? Realizing that no two companies are alike, and the flow might vary depending on the project, here is an example of the design process. This represents what you might expect when working with Resolution Creative to create a solution for your marketing needs.

First, let’s start a conversation. The purpose of this is to review the product or service and your current marketing. What works for you and what doesn’t. What do you need to communicate and how? Who is your audience? Are there technical requirements that need to be considered? It is important you know your marketing budget, so a solution may be developed that fits your needs.

The next step is research. Resolution will review what your competitors are doing, and what existing materials you might have available or be required to use. What is your aesthetic? Knowing your preferences will also help guide the design direction.

Based upon the initial meeting and research, you will be provided with a proposal detailing the cost and deliverables of your project. This will include pricing provided by outside vendors for items that may be needed such as photography or copywriting. If the proposal is accepted, a contract will prepared with action dates for both parties and the payment schedule.

At this point, we can begin more in-depth research to develop the appropriate solution and design direction. A varying number of creative concepts will be presented, depending upon the scope of the project and budget. The thought behind each concept will be discussed, and one will be chosen for further development. There will be an opportunity for you to make any necessary revisions.

After concepts are approved, Resolution Creative will prepare the final production files and work with the vendor that will see the project to its completion.
